Beware of Incumbent Judges!

People have a tendency to vote for judges with “incumbent” by their names. Judges have no political party designation and we know nothing about their views, what might influence their decisions; are they pro-life or are they for abortions? Do they stand for the Constitution of America or do they want to destroy it? We know nothing about them! On Election Day we blindly vote for judges that are listed without knowing who we are voting for!

At one of our conservative meetings in Minnesota, I was informed that a judge leaves office three months before the election. By doing this the current governor, Gov. Dayton, can put a liberal judge into office with “incumbent” after their name. This can be a problem. People think the judges have held that office for a while and are more experienced than any new opponent. Then the lawyers who would like to run don’t because if they do not win, the judges who are elected can come against them when they are defending their clients.

Even though judges are supposed to be impartial it is very important that we know who we are voting for. After all, we wouldn’t think of not knowing the record and beliefs of those who run for other offices.
